Wow, amazing. The first two are my favourites. They look more professional than most professionals' work. Seems like anyone with a tool can be called a pro. But you, have actual talent in so many areas.

Talent you should continue sharing with the world. Because we love it. Grins.

For those who say they know music I have a song I need you to play “Name That Tune!” with.

*cue the flashing TV game show lights, the host stand slide in place in front of the Rat standing there*

Ok… give me the name of this song, and the artist if you can. The video is from General Hospital soap opera. The song plays in the background 1:24 minutes into the video. (The young stud of a man and the very sexy older woman coming into her apartment, peeling off clothing is the scene you are watching for)

You only get a little clip and one of the reasons I can’t get the song myself. I have plugged in the few lyrics for a search and I have looked online for the song for a few days… na ta, nothing, ain’t finding it.

So… *rat points at you* Contestant …can you name that tune??? Please?

*Cheesy TV game show music starts to play*

Faeriemoon was always the evil nursing student from the basement of our House. Now… she is so much more. Thursday I was looking forward to her visit and waited with a cheese and fruit tray. Then they pulled into my driveway. She jumps out, not even closing the door behind her, and enclosed me a huge hug.

Her friend Brit was just as nice to meet, her humor fitting into our own very well. Elemental and Nightgame joined us and out to dinner we went where I think the waiter got the blood going…or that might have been the drinks. Rum… all that was missing was the crab cakes. But we will save those for the day Otter joins us.

We talked of VR, we talked of life, the world, movies, boyfriends from hell, kids. Really the time flew by as we sat on the porch with the wind and thunder sounding around us. I learned so much from these two ladies and enjoyed my time with them. They are the kind of people you can sit for hours and talk to, or sit and know they understood life as you do.

Faeriemoon talked about how she is herself on VR, not as she is in other places on life. As she spoke of this, sitting on the porch with the candle light off her lovely face… I was thinking “She gets it. She understands.” And so she slide right into sisterhood for me.

Seems I am gathering those around me more and more with the help of Vampire Rave, first Heidi and now her. I was sadden to see them leave and really looking forward to seeing them again. I am one very lucky Rat to have these people in my life, and all of the House within the VR walls.

Back- Nightgame, Me, Faerirmoom. Front- Elemental

Now off for the day- Birdy is on the way to play with make up for a picture. :) I just had to come on and share what a wonderful time we had. Yeah... mean of me but oh well... *Rat smiles just thinking of her visits of this last week*

The other day I was updating the Coven’s upcoming movies page. I found one called Dead Snow. It is a group of students going to party away as they fit in a few ski runs. Basic horror movie.

I read on to see that zombies are the evil of the movie. Hmm… ok.

Not only zombies but… and this is what had me shake my head… Nazi soldiers zombies.

O.o

See- the ‘sex change, Baywatch looking, boobs bouncing as he stalks you in a red skimpy swimsuit’ Jason is not such a bad idea now is it?

"Before I kill you...does this axe make my arms look big?"

Does the stalking walk and passes a window...and goes back to check out his hot body as the "ch ch ch ch ca ca ca" song plays.

Ok- sitting on the couch, thinking of going to bed. Yes I know it is only 6:30 but.... my eye lids are heavy. Not a good night sleep last night, lots of dreams I could not remember but woke up sad as hell today. Upset.

Been a long day- rain making me even more sad. Came home to clean a few hours, getting ready for the lovely faeriemoon visit. Only thing that has made me happy today- thinking of meeting the crazy nurse from the House Eternal basement.

I should spend a few hours checking profiles, got the Wen night chat tonight in the Wolf House but really... don't know if I am going to make it that long.

Maybe a nap will help.

So...lay down on the couch, give into the need for sleep... wake up in a few hours. That should not throw off my sleep tonight. And I have learned a long time ago if I fight off sleep it takes me hours to try and go back to sleep.

*snugs on the couch and gives in to her bad day*

I've actually been having an off day, too. Raining here as well. The perfect kind of day to curl up under a big warm blanket, and let the pitter-patter of raindrops lull you to sleep.

What do you do when you walk into work to find your boss crying? Myself I think I would be uncomfortable as hell, not know what to say.

But not my guys. They ask me what is wrong, to make sure nothing had happen. When I say nothing, just going thru the phone book looking for a garage to replace a fuel pump… and I left it at that as it reminded me of dad and that set the tears off. They know …they understand.

“It will be ok, it always is.”

“You will be alright.”

“It will get easier.”

“It always works out.”

Then crack a joke that would they knew would make me smile, knowing they are right about this and so much more. I am very lucky to have the men I do working with me. I have really no idea how I could face coming to work without them.

After having looked forward to meeting these folks for a while I was all smiles and nerves. I mean… Images was a Master Vampire when I joined and such a well known member. Hey- I remember that feeling, trust me. I have to say I do not remember Scott till later, when it was suggested I take the second profile of mine into his Coven as it reached level 5. And that is when it all started…he tagged me as an Assistant Master. Yeap- and I told him that yesterday too. :P :)

First- we was early. I don’t mean a half hour early either. I called them when we was 50 miles or so out and realized when Heidi said they were just leaving that I made the mistake of …1- we lost a hour so instead of it being 11:00 am, it was really 10:00am for them. And 2- I drive way to fast. The 500 mile trip took me a little over five hours. So when I called them at 10:00 am to say we was about ½ hour out… it was no way close to the 12:00 to 1:00 pm meet up time. *slaps her own forehead* Duh. What can I say- I was nervous about meeting them.

Heidi is a great person- that smile does light up a room as I always thought. Her voice is such a lead off as she is such a power on in person. You ever hear Images voice, at least to me, it makes you think she will be like a little doll. Huh… trust me- that woman is nothing like a doll.  Maybe a power ranger. She is wonderful. All I can say about her is if ever had a disagreement with her- meeting her just reinforced my opinion that she would be a fair and compassionate person toward you. But there is a stronger side that, when reached, will tell you off.

Scott was a surprise to me. He is so funny and able to make you laugh at just looking at his facial expressions. *grrrr…double grrrr* His eyes will take you back as you see such a loving person, and a love for his family that goes deep. Respect is the word that comes to mind, I see him as a person who gives people respect. To his wife, his son, even to two strangers he meets that day. And the way he talks about his wife, the way they even fuss at each other show how much he loves and respects her. I also see that his interaction in the Coven is just a hint of his humor. And I also see a closer friend then I though of him before. I hidden gem on the site.

And the son Christopher is a combination of both. And if you want to see a well behaved little boy look no further then there. You can see by the way he acts, his eyes that sparkle with life, he is having a life full of adventurers and learning all that he can from parents that also show him love.

Before we meet them I told Connie that we had to be on our best behavior. No cussing, no rude comments, no farting (She just looked at me on that one) no burping. She agreed with me. Hell- I even picked my dinner around not getting any spots on my blouse because you know it would land right on my boobs with a spat. lol I look back on that and think- what was I worried about? These people are real. Yes- they are the only persons I meet offline but for RedQueen, ones that I “see” everyday, that I have held in high regards for three years now. But they showed us who they were yesterday in those hours we sat together and I just hope we showed our own self’s to them. Connie would have been the same but for more cussing. And me? A few cuss words, and maybe a burp or two from the drink on an empty belly. LOL

But it does make you want to meet them again, share some laughter over a table of drinks and good food. Someway or how we will do this again.

Thanks for meeting with us!

Wise words to keep.

Cancer:

"I've messaged him and let him know the suspension is justified. If he isn't in the picture, or the creator of the picture, the picture doesn't belong in a Portfolio. He can move it to his Profile. A portfolio is a showcase of one's work. Buying a picture, or a picture that is given to you (both of which you 'own'), is not a demonstration of your work."

Great... not only is the Cat ill but now I think I have poison ivy on my eyes, in my eyes.

Yesterday I did some work around my place, picking up here and there. I planted the mint on the bank beside my porch. Just one little hole, put the plant in and covered it up with the loose dirt...dirt- no green stuff.

Notice last night my eyes stung...and just looked in the mirror to see little blisters. Eye lids are swollen but that is normal for me at this time of year. Please please just be the season stuff...

Good news is it is not on my hands. But then.. I washed them after I was done. Dang it.

Here we go again...

14:18 May 20 2009
Times Read: 1,692

Another member is pissed about her suspension. She admits she is wrong but now it is all about how a private messages should have been used…blah blah blah. Folks- let’s talk about that for a second…

Here I sit checking profiles and portfolios on the site, giving time I could be playing in the House/ Coven, or working on a Member’s Article. I run into one that has uploaded pictures that do not belong to the person so I suspend.

Now- Cancer tells us that the suspension is the “Warning” of the problem, not to do private messages. At least that is what I get from reading his message. It is not a strike against the member in any way. Trust me- lot’s of people have these warning, even the higher older members have been suspended. I would think the only way it is taken into account is if you keep breaking the rules.

So I go along, moving on to the next person… one of the 20,676 pages we are to check each day. Now let’s take it like you want us to do it- private message to the member.

This would work three ways:

I take my time out and send you the message of the problem, and if you are online at the time this might work. But what if you are not? How do I keep track? Do I get a notebook and write it down?

“Jane Doe has code problem with her profile. I sent private message on 1/1 at 12:35 pm. She is yet to answer me.”

“Keep track of Jane Doe and when she comes online tell her of the code problem.”

“Jane Doe said she would fix her profile but might be a few days. Go back and check it again, then send her another message if she does not have it fixed. Keep track of her.”

What if you can’t fit the code problem? What if you are like me and only have the basic code understanding? Cancer tells you that Sentorans do not have to answer code questions. If I do not understand, I ask for help. So I have to now keep track of you on my notepad, calling in help or wait for you to get help, deal with keeping track of what is going on in your profile.

Wow- and to thank I could just be chatting away with friends on here instead.

Now I would also have to keep track of all the people I suspend, as well as all the other Sentorans, who just keep breaking the rules. The ones who remove codes or pictures…wait a week, and slide them right back in. Now we have the work of 9 Sentorans to take into account. We have to basically read each others mind on who we suspended and what for. Repeat rule breaker would get away with it, and really… if all you got was a message- why not? Not like we could ever see a pattern of your abuse of the site.

But nope- you would want us do it by private message so we would …make a Master List…and keep it updated. And check a member’s name every time we find a rule broken to see if they have before. We would have to update this list that we share, go over pages of names to check if that one person was always breaking the site rules.

That is it…we have any answer to your sorry ass complaint about not be message about your suspension.

Now is that something you would do? Really…is it?

OR do you use the nice system Cancer has all set up?

Suspend, and when the member sees the rule broken, they are able to take the time to fix it, message any Sentoran and all is well. We do not have to keep track of you.

A system that also keeps track of your history so we can find those repeaters.

A system that Cancer put into place because he knew what the site needed. Not a private message but a slap on the hand, a “we are watching you”. Everyone has broken a rule here- it is the way of life. I understand that… and have no problem with members.

Sorry your feeling are hurt folks but really… like the rating her on the site… it means nothing. I am not on a power trip. I am not ‘out’ to get anyone. If I drop over on your profile often it is nine times out of ten because you changed your pic. I don’t remember names, I remember pics. And I do random checks so… you can expect me on your profile at one time or another.

And I do not send out private messages to people. I did it once and it turned ugly so….not again. Let’s play by Cancer’s system shall we? Yes we shall.

And you will have to deal with having a suspension on your history. Funny- as the journal entry is drawing more attention to your rule breaking then anything else. Don’t want to be seen as a rule breaker? Who knew but you and me? Bet a lot more people do now.

Cat helped me clean out my guest room and in return I did a make up look and some pictures for her. Really…we planed the make up session but not the cleaning. But only took two hours to clean out the closet and drawers of the bedroom set. It is all ready for company now.

Then she got to put up my soft box light. With only a few dozen cuss words she finally got it onto the stand. Yeah! Now that the new lighting for picture was up and running for me to “try” and learn how to use- it was fun time.

Make up. Cat likes to play with make up and she got a lot of first last night. First to try my new make up brushed that came Friday, first for the new blush and eye shadow I have had for a few weeks now. Dang her… lol

Anyway- It was on to play with lighting. For a cat she played a ginny pig really well. It took about an hour, most of that playing with the lights. Kind of fun trying to learn how light falls, how to control it, and the use of cloth and clothing and how it affects the light. Lot’s to learn.

Cat told me I could show you some of the pictures so….

Nightgame tries to look all sweet.(blur at the eyes...trying to firgure that out...must be something I am doing wrong or moving the tripod as I shoot)

“What? I did not do anything… look at me- does it look like I would do anything wrong?”

Nightgame’s smile gives it away the she did the deed.

To Nightgame saying “SO? I did it, what of it?” lol

Favorite shoots of the night:

It was great fun and sure we will do another some day. Also have two orders from Birdy if we can ever get a day to do them. Now I am off to put the left over pizza in the oven and lie on my couch and do nothing but watch movies.

Words and actions of the night=

Cat was standing on the street, being picked up.

A gargoyle was thrown.

One bra was removed.

“He is the kind of guy that makes me want to lick his eyebrows.”

Another bra was removed and thrown across the room.

“Don’t ya just want to pull on his ear lobe?”

“The do a lot of flagellation.” “They fart a lot?”

“Don’t you have to get up to pee and get me another pop?”

“Make sure you get your bra off the floor.”

:O Doesn't that just make you wonder? lol

Been reading Master Lighting Guide by Christopher Gray. Great book but I tell ya… it did not take me long to learn three facts really fast.

1- I should of started with the idiots guide as this book is way to technical for me. LOL

2- The whole f-stop, aperture, physics of light …O.O… is way over my head.

3- My respect for those who are portrait or any photographers in general has just increased thousand fold.

But all in all I am learning, understanding more as I look at photos. I am starting to see the three lights used on most, seamless so it only looks as one. I am understanding what fallout is, different lighting styles, and why they are named as such. Have to say it is very interesting to learn how it works even if I never do it myself.

I also got a new make up book also. lol That one I will understand a lot better.

What's so hard about f-stop? The smaller the number, the more light that is allowed to pass through the lens to the proverbial film.

Jack shit nothing

Isn't that hard to believe?

Is as intresting as an ant show.

So come on now- get into the grove

of a social network and let it loose.

And a few last tips I want to share..

Don't threat to pull out my hair.

And try to use words I can understand

Because most of them lord..

Just makes me want to slap the back of your hand.

Don't be rude and let's try something new

Like treating members as you

want them to treat you.

The site is here for you to have fun

not to act like a internet thug.

Porn is not allowed

so get your head out of your ass

Now here is my rate

and if you was to update

just ask and I shall return

I do not add strangers to my friends list

so do not ask

Nor do I kiss anyones ass

no matter how powerful of a who or what you are.

Don't bite me- I think it is rude

Unless you are the vampire from

the Moonlight show.

Wecome to VR and I hope this helps

God be with you

It is that wonderful time of having a rental property up for rent, ad running.

“Well…is it junky?”

Why yes it is. I like to keep it that way. Saves me a lot of worry that I would rent it to someone who might try and take care of it. And this way- I don’t have to worry about damage. What? For a $365.00 apartment you want it to be nice?

“Can we come see it?”

“We? As in how many sir?”

“Me, woman (points off for just calling her woman) and the three kids.”

“Sir this is only a small bedroom apartment. I don’t think it will be big enough for your family”

“So when can we see it?

O.o

*smiles* Joy Joy. As much as people bitch about rental property and landlords… I can match it with the tenants we have gotten in the years of running rental property.

Came to the office and I can't get IE to pull up AOL so I flip over to Firefox and Yahoo Vampire Rave.

Found this little article on the site.

"I have this grandiose plan of writing a novel about a Templar knight who becomes a vampire...with that being said, I know that I have a lot of research to do. I came upon Vampire Rave for research info, as they stated that they are continually expanding a database that is 'all things vampire'...

Well...it isn't really 'all things vampire' yet - it's more like people who are fantasizing about being vampires (and werewolves, fairies, garden gnomes, etc). Some of these people are actually crazy. You get everything from a 14 year-old girl who cuts herself and sips her own blood, to a horny old bastard who keeps getting banned for putting up naked pictures of himself. I've been on the site for a month, and so far I've witnessed:

- a lot of bickering and complaining about the ratings they give each other ( I don't care about it, but for the record, I'm about an 8.5 out of a 'perfect' 10, and that's without putting up any real pics).

- one woman accusing another of saving her own ass while leaving her two young children to die in a fire

- lots of profiles filled with sparkling fairies, dragons, and tons of Japanese anime

- a lot of illiteracy, for example 'if u dont liek my speling, u can go to hel'

- fat, not-so-attractive chicks giving attitude by opening their profiles with 'Do not try to cyber-talk or date me, or I will block you'

( Now I believe that everyone should have a healthy ego - plus, I'm a fat chick myself. But there is a fine line between fantasy and reality, ya' know? Their pretty vamp avatars and their real pics don't match - know what I'm saying)? And Lord...what does that say about the desperate guys who are chasing them down?

Entertaining, to say the least! Compared to 'the Rave', Yelp Talk is tame (and better looking). Vampire Rave does appears to be monitoring the sight, due to all of the weirdos, thank God.

Anyway, I have been greeted warmly by some of the vamps, and I even got forcefully inducted into a coven...

And with all of the fantasy, roll playing stuff going on, I'm actually getting some information on vampire lore."

Here is the site: http://www.yelp.com/biz/vampire-rave-phoenix

Hmmm.... at least she said it was being monitored over. ^.^

I remember seeing an avatar like that (the one she uses for this 'review') here on VR. That'll satisfy the curiosity of who this is.

Funny thing about these crappy reviews are- there are idiots EVERYWHERE. We could give the same kind of review for Myspace, a high school, or even our own neighborhood street. There are strange people, run of the mill people, and amazing people all over the place. No one place will attract only the cream of the crop (even if they 'look' like it, they're lying to themselves that they are.... not even in your most wonderful churches, and maybe even especially not). So if they're looking for that, it's a pipe dream.

Maybe the weirdo is the person who feels this way about this place, yet continues to stay. What's that say about this person? Heck, what's that say about any of these people who whine their butts off but refuse to delete? It says they freakin' love it.

Vampirewitch39
Vampirewitch39

I am with you on that Images. And those kind of people just get on my nerves. "I hate the place- blah blah blah" and they do it every day they come onto the site that they hate. If you are that unhappy with VR .. ( and your life) then just DO something about it- like delete the account or look inward to what is making you hate it so much. You might find something out about yourself.

As in you hate people who whine but you do it yourself.

Drama Queen and Kings talking all that...as you yourself are.

You dislike or hate in others show what you dislike about yourself.

Today Cat helped me do something I have been wanting to do for a long time- clean and rework my back porch. Not a easy task, mind you. I have a very strange porch that while it is a nice size there is a electric pole in the middle of it. Yes- an electric pole. And you have to take into account the large patio table that is rarely used as well as a plastic storage cabinet that must stay on the porch. But I had a dream- candles, a nice place where we can sit, a place to relax and enjoy just being there.

The porch is on the back side of my trailer, my drive way and the place to park over half of the porch/carport. Neighbor to one side that likes to enjoy his own time out outside during the summer, so privacy is an issue. Two or three years ago we hung some cloth up, staple to the porch wood to give some privacy. So we knew that is something we wanted to do again. I am lucky as layout is the trailer, porch/carport, a hill/bank that goes up to the road. If you look at my place from the road you see my roof, the porch roof so that side is only a concern about the kids walking up and down the road, able to look down and see us.

I knew I wanted to use the mason jars that I had to make hanging candle holders, using copper wire to make the hangers. We both took the water hose and cleaners to the patio pieces that was back there, a few hours to clean the area. (I left my lounger and one other chair on the front porch along with my fire pit for more a personal place for me alone.) We put the table in front of the rarely used storage unit, placing it so when we eat outside we can use the table in a buffet style. Also it can be used for a large alter table if need be. I wanted to keep the pagan out of it, I do still live in a small town, but a few pieces slip in. We went shopping and Cat came up with the beautiful water blue drapes for the privacy. We did the math and the cloth (curtain panels) was $1.50 a yard, better then any cheap cloth we could buy at a fabric place. $5.00 panels at five panels from Big Lots did the trick, and the color….it just makes it look magical. Birdy will love it as she loves blue.

Afternoon by the time we got it finished:

*Note the tall metal basket in the back right? Plan to place a fern in it when I can*

And at night:

*Gives a happy sigh* Thank you Cat for helping me make a haven. I owe you sis.

Watching the news with the bad storms going on. Seems our state has been hit by tornadoes with a funnel (?) spotted in our town. While the storm is moving out as I type this it reminds me of the last one that hit our town a few years ago.

Nice Saturday sunny day and Birdy and I was cooking dinner together at my home when a bad storm came about. My sister who lives out of town was just then coming to my parents home and she called me on the phone telling me to look outside at the rainbow. Then she told me there must be a fire about a mile away as she was seeing clouds of black.

Connie calls us a few minutes later to tell us she was alright, not to worry. Huh? Tornado hit her street as is went across the town, taking out some of main street. The smoke cloud my sister thought she say was really the debris cloud as it went over a ball field full of kids.

Birdy and I had to go check on Cat (as we was noisy- wanted to see the damage) and it was bad. I have seen the aftermath of these before, as a child I came home from a visit to my sister at Morehead University to find the warehouses roofs gone but for one, rain filling in the buildings. As a family we worked sweeping the water out, spreading tarps as dad moved as much of the storage crates full of furniture as he could to the only building that had a roof, leaking or not. For two days we sleep, sweep, loaded as many trucks as we could to save as much as we could, all with people calling for help. We did what we could.

Just as we did when the last one hit. Birdy and I came back to find dad taking a truck out to someone who lost their home, calling for help. Him and I ended up taking all the trucks out in the next two days, delivering boxes even to our own CPA as he tried to save his office and records. Most had insurance to pay the cost but others didn’t. While it did not matter- those who called got a truck till they could get storage, have a few days to take in what they have lost.

Will we get calls tonight? Maybe… we always have. Fires, flooding, storms, break ins, tornadoes. Been at them all and seen the damage mother nature can do. I just hope no one was killed.

Well that is the kind of person you are. I learned from my parents, the joys of giving of myself and helping those in need. It is a wonderful gift given to us by our parents.

Take care of yourself, Cat and Birdy. Please be safe.

My morning... was so much fun.

I know I am a hard ass but really… this morning just shows me just how much I hate people. People who should know how to do the jobs that “we do this all the time…you must not get many jobs.” Well…you might be right. I might not get a third of your military jobs. BUT let me tell ya- I bet you a flying horse turd that we do a hell of a lot better job.

I or my crew do not show up to the warehouse two hours late, making me eat the labor cost as we sat and wait for you.

I or my crew do not show up to the warehouse with a shipment with untaped boxes, open boxes. Can we say that is against the rules as well as opening your ass up big time for a theft claim dumb fuck.

I or my crew do not move mirrors that are not packed per the regulations of the military. Nor do we move kitchen table still together (damage the wood/bolts that keep the legs tight). We also do not move totes of craft paints and spray paints - that is SOOO against the rules. And the flammable BBQ chips that have starter fuel on them? Why the hell would you move those? I can name at least eight rules you broke, and at least three common moving rights or wrongs that you broke.

Then when I write these things on the OS&D (over, shortage and damage ) you start given me attitude? Listen little shit… I pay my claims that my men do but I be damn if I will pay your freaking ass ones. Mr. “I do this every day…” then maybe you need to ask yourself if you are freaking doing it right. I don’t care if you are from a company five times as big as me- who the hell do you think has a better service score? Who is the top listed mover in the area for customer service? Who the hell is the one that got an award for lowest claims percentage out of the base? That is right- us. Me and my guys.

But I stood and took you shit, I just bite my tongue till you was done. Then I gave you the papers to sign and sent you on your way. I wave bye to a young man that I really really hope is not what this industry is going toward. And if the movers can’t make money under this new system…have to treat peoples household like this…well… time to get out while our name still means something good.

2010 Lonestar. These things are bad asses.

And start around $130,000. The one showing, with all the crome.... easy $200,000 I would say.

Seems the local grocery stores are not able to keep in stock fresh herbs. So I have done something that I have not been able to do before now due to having cats. I have planted herbs and placed them in my kitchen window. I use to plant them outside, in pots, but I wanted to see if I can keep them all year round.

As anyone who has been in my house will tell you I love A/C and hate heat. So we will wait and see if they are frost proof. lol

Planted: Sage, Onion Chives, Rosemary, Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Cilantro, Parsley.

I had rosemary chicken and basil on my sliced tomatoes. Mmmmm Mmm.

And I have to say- it makes my kitchen look very witchy. lol Think I will spend the night watching Practical Magic. ;)

After the last two years I don’t watch the Kentucky Derby live, but catch it on the news/you tube if no animal is hurt during the running.

So it was with great joy I have sat and watched the Derby from this weekend. And to thank Mind That Bird was purchase for $9,500.00 dollars, not seen as a race horse. But the Kentucky-bred gelding took to the muddy track like a champ, with a jockey who had shown us before how a race was won.

Calvin Borel, the jockey, was so happy. His words of wishing his parents was there to see what he had done touched everyone. He was not thinking of his reputation or money he made- but of how he missed his parents on a day that he would never forget, his second Kentucky Derby win.

Fun was made of Mind That Bird trainer Chip Woodley, even as far as one newspaper saying he pulled in with a pickup and horse trailer himself, bringing his ‘country’ horse to the races. Well- watch the video. I think this country horse ran the race and left all you big money horses eating his mud.

And to top of the underdog winning- within 24 hours Mr. Woolley laid the blanket of roses that is placed on the winning horse at the statue of Barbaro at the racetrack. He was the horse that was injured during the Kentucky Derby and ended up having to be put down.

That shows a great respect to the reason behind the true horse racer- love of the sport, love of the animal. Well done Mr. Woodley, Mr. Borel and the star of the race Mind That Bird. Well done indeed. This Kentuckian is very proud of you all.

It felt like old times- when the Derby was made for the horses, not the people. :)

Wasn't that a GREAT Horse Race!

What an amazing story! A trainer / Owner who does it all himself for the love of the sport. The purse is all he will make out of this, as a gelding sure won't be breeding any time soon!

This is why we keep watching the race, in the hopes that a special horse will show up and we got lucky this year. :)

Personally, I believe there needs to be a better way to get the Prince's mark. Like maybe entering so many items into the database, or so many favors in a coven or something a little more fair then whom he see's fit... To me thats just too biased... IMO.

O,O

Really- she has to be kidding right? I mean- he is the website owner....helllo!! And as such he is the one and only 'Prince' of this vampire site. If he can't pick who get's his mark..... just.... WTF?

Why can't they accept the way that his mark is handed out and leave it alone.

Been a nice day. Slept late- rain all day so that made the housework and laundry a drag. :D But I got it done, watched a little SuperNatural on DVD, and played on youtube.

Found a video on zombie make up that I wanted to try so I played. Now when it was time to take a picture of it I wanted to try the new studio light I got. (Otter- the same one you use as I had no idea what to get. The pictures you do are more then I would ever try to do so.... and as you wrote the price was very fair. You would know what kind is best so... I copy ya. ;)

Boy- that was fun....not. lol I mean with me holding the camera, to lazy to dig out the tripod, I was always casting a shadow on myself. I think trying to work with the light was more a pain then not. Oh well...maybe someday I will get use to it. Shadows- got to love them.

I did play for a few hours on the edit but here they are- the zombie is coming. *evil laughter*

Now to bed- early morning work time for me. :(

Can I make a small suggestion?

Maybe go with more character lines on the cheeks to make them sunken in...

And smudge some of the black into grey. Makes for an awesome zombie look.

I may suck at normal make up, but I can do some good monster stuff.
